MEET PAULA IOAPO

Mauriora koutou katoa.
Ko Hikurangi te maunga.
Ko Waiapu te awa.
Ko Ngati Pōrou te iwi.
He uri ahau no te Tairawhiti.
Ko Paula tōku ingoa.
To translate, my connection is to the mountain Hikurangi, the river Waiapu and to the tribe Ngati Porou. I hail from the East Coast (of Gisborne) and my name is Paula.
I am honoured and privileged to be your AUTLSS President for 2023.
This year is my final year of study, which I say with so much energy and excitement. All the hard work and all the people I have met along the way has made for a very worthwhile AUT ‘unique’ experience.
My hope and aspiration is to fulfil an ambitious legacy. This legacy aims to recreate this worthwhile AUT ‘unique’ experience for as many of our law students as possible for 2023. With our unstoppably driven team no doubt we will hit this throughout the year. So, stay tuned, watch this space and don’t forget to sign up as an AUTLSS member!
A fun fact about me is when I was very young, I wished Olivia Newton John was my mum! No offence to my actual mum, the ‘best’ mum ever. (If you know, you know, just google.)
Ngā manaakitanga
