ABOUT US

AUTLSS is 100% run for our students, by our students.

Our mission is to represent the interests of AUT's law students and to enhance their experience of law school, both academically and socially. ​We do our best to meet these interests by putting on numerous social events throughout the year, organising the extra-curricular law competitions, finding mentors for our first and second years, hosting speaker events which feature guests who are leaders in their field and so much more.

Although membership is not compulsory, we encourage it! Becoming a member affords you access to member exclusive deals via our AUTLSS x Partnerships throughout the year and your small membership fee supports the day-to-day functioning of our society. You can join here. 

 

Executive Structure

Typically, we hold elections for our executive committee every year, at our AGM usually in August (prior to the NZ Law Students' Society conference). The incoming and outgoing presidents then attend the national conference and national exec meetings.
